SALE OF GOLDFIELD.

[TO TIIR EDITOK.] Sir—l desire to call your attention and that of the residents of this district to the fact that at the last sitting of the Waste Lands Board in Hokitika, an application was made to purchase 200 acres of rural land near Kumara. The application was referred to the Chief Surveyor to report upon. It is quite possible that tho land so applied for is on the deviation line of tho railway, or just ahead of the main lead recently discovered at Larrikins. In either of these cases, or in any case, it is advisable to take some steps to prevent such a blunder as the sale of a large block of land, the alienation of which would most probably detrimentally affect the whole district.—l am, etc., Axti-Gridiuonkk. Kumara, December Gfcli, 1879.
