NOTICi DURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. UmPr tho distinguished patroimge of his Majesty the Xing of Italy; it Romo, according to communication received from tiie Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign A flairs, dated Li-th March, 1878. We nro informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucylvptus oil found in the trade instead of our Luclyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious j but as the qualities ut both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts; — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to lie of value as a medicament in cases ol rheumatism of secondary natiire, arid manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon tile skill. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament ipust increase iuflamation; and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, broiri chitis, diptheria; croup, sprains &c.; the curative power of our extract oii the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications iii this paper. An application of the oil instead of drir extract mlist impair the diseased; , The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to commoii turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pduild weight; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of tHe guru leaves, soothing and healing in effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Oiir extract, the genuine article, is only made lip iri one half ounce and one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our ttade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS; Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sous, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October; 1877, at Sandhurst :—“ Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabc, of xroubark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Ruabe calmd on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he bad the satisfaction of seeing Iris son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News : Mr Giescliin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very, severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after th rco applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having Iris arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mi’s Woppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnymode) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr liyan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN MUEAN, Wholesale Agent for Now Zealand.
