T)ATEP AYERS inarrear for Ist Rate lli of 1878-1879. and for the 2nd Rate of 1879-1880, are informed that all DEFAULTERS will be SUED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE AFTER THE 30th Instant. The Collectors are— Mr Thomas Kerr, Newrick’s, Stafford, for Arabura Riding, Mr Richard Beck, Kanieri, forKanieri and Totara Ridings. Mr J. Butler, Okarito, for Okarito Riding. For the convenience of Ratepayers, Rates will also be received at any time, for any of the Ridings, at the Council Chambers, Hokitika. THE ARAHURA ROAD BOARD. TO THE CHAIRMAN AND COUNCILLORS OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF WESTLAND, NEW ZEALAND : rjHE PETITION of the Undersigned, being Ratepayers of the Arahnra Rond Board District, County of Westland, humbly shevveth— That, whereas, it is provided by the 37th 38th, and 39th clauses of the Counties Act, 1876, that the Council may, by Special Order, declare the Road Board of any Road District dissolved, and the Road District merged into the County. And, whereas, the Road Board of the Arahura District fails to cany out to the satisfaction of the Ratepayers, of the said District, the administration of local works : Now, therefore, we the undersigned Ratepayers of the Road Board District as aforesaid, petition you the County Council of Westland, to declare the Road Board of the said Arahura Road District to be dissolved, and the said District to be merged into the County of Westland. Dated this eighth day of November, 1879. Signed by Edwin Blake, Walter Tovell, B. Lyons, A. Binnie, H, W. Sandle, and 312 other rate, payers’ representing rateable property to the amount of threefifths of the whole annual value of rateable property in the Arahura Riding.
