The proposal for establishing a woollen factory at Auckland, with £20,000 capital is likely to come to maturity, the company having offered to rent the old Western Springs estate, belonging to the City Council. Operations are to be at once commenced by Messrs Winter and Co. to raise the Taupo. A diver has been appointed to examine her bottom. Gkahamstown, November 7. Yesterday some men, in digging a trench for the new county wate£fupply pipes, near the site of the old Kurauui Hotel, unearthed the skeleton, of a man whose skull has been pronounced to be that of an adult European—a supposed relic of some covered crime. ./V**
PARLIAMENTARY. Wellington, November^. Triennial Parliaments Bill has ueen passed. An attempt was made by Mr Reeves to get the Bill recommitted, but it failed. The Qualification of Electors Bill was amended so as to allow persons over 21 years of age to vote. The House adjourned soon after midnight.
