Lawe'rence will be hanged on Monday. The revenue for the quarter amounts to L1,134/000, being a decrease of L 67, 000 as compared with corresponding quarter of last year. The deficiency in the revenue for the quarter was principally in land; the excise also showed a decrease. There was an increase on 39 other articles.

Several very pleasant I’eunions have taken place between the French, German, and Austrian officers attached to the war ships of those nationalities. The French officers say that the Exhibition has produced results in the way of promoting this pleasant feeling never before obtained. The exhibition is an increasing success. The numbers there will make a capital market for New Zealand potatoes. Secanckis 1 is heavily backed for the Clip.
Petrcea has receded for the Derby; Falmouth and Nellie are* advancing. At the meeting of the Australian Mutual Provident Society the report of the directors was unanimously adopted. The Wakatipu had a very rouj-h passage.
The quarter's revenue is £993,000, showing a decrease on the corresponding quarter of last year of £BI,OOO. The lands sales decreased by £176,000. The several heads of general revenue all increased.
The Hero left with a good shipment of maize and sugars. The Australian Mutual Providvent Society shows a quinquennial surplus of £565,000. The dividend is £489,000.
