NOTICE. pXJHE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS -*- GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage oi his Majesty the -King of Italyy. %t Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-Geueral for ItrAy. at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878: We are informed that dealers in mediouio often try to sell the tus oil found in the trade instead of GUI' Kuclyptus PJxtract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in suoh a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious; but as qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one j another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts:— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to bd of value as a medicament in cases. of rheumatism of secondary and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase! inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprain's &c.) the curative power of our extract on the named diseas-es being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. Au application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the! diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is ia resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight j our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in -its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. - Our extract, the genuine article,- is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature; SANDER and SONS, Sole turers of the Eucalyptus Extract* Sandhurst, November, 1878, : , DUNCAN" M<LEAN, Wholesale Agent'for New-Zealand. The Extract of the Euc'ajyptiißGlobiia lus, manufactured.,.solely by Messrs Sander and .Sons, "Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials:— Epitome of declaration made before" Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th' October,1877, at .Sandhurst:—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabes of Ironbark, for nine weeks,- and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary.'. At this junction Mr. Raabe called On Messrs Sander and Sons, curing some of- their 'Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and -by the application of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fort night out of all danger, and he has'now* quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very, severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight, years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after caking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully; applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner,' in Colbinabbia (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice' restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and train pled upon by a cow; In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back. Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the' family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in' the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of Considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract: The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states :-Ir.i.st week the eldesc boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesales Agent for New 25ealandu
