NOTICE. PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTtM L GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Uml v the distinguished patronage of his Mijesty the King of Italy) it Borne, according to communication, .•oceived from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions Iroin the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 1-ith March, 1878. . We are informed that dealers ill medicine often try to sell the endylvp-; tus oil found in the trade iustead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against tlie public ia such a case is concerned; the quences would not be serious ; but a?, the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to another, we consider it our duty td direct the public attention to the following facts: —" The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary naturej and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase iufianiation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, chitis, diptheria, croup, sprains <fec.j the curative power of our extract on ably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. ... The truth of our assertion is founded upon tlie fact that the oil is a resinous" product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight j our ex-; tract consists of the . evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, ifo price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ; vials beaiv ing on the labels our trade mark and signature; , SANDER aiid SONS, Sole Aianufac* turers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M<LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurstj recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October 1877, at Sandhurst :—" Three medical geutlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation nf the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe' called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he had the satisfaction ot seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Evening News :—• Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after" three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight year's from rupture, and all medical fckill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not, even necessitate as much as an interruption ia his attendance at Mis Weppner, in Colbinabbiu (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years.of age, who had been rushed and trampled upou by a cow. In November M:-s Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, batcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fiekel suffered irt the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump uf considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract.
