NOTICE. DURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS * GLOBULES EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage of bis Majesty the King of Italy* it Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General fo? Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878; We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucylyptns oil found in the trade instead of our Enclyptus Extract. So far as the com l milting of iniposition against the publie in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts:— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to bo of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nafure, atid manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicam ml must increase inflamation, And it is therefore evident that in cases of wotlnds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria- croup, sprains etc., the curative power of bur extract on the named diseases being unquestionably prbved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion, is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing iii its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is duly made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ; vials hearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract, Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand; The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globiu Ins, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, 1877* at Sandhurst ;—“ Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of xrunhark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured hy an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe caked on Messrs Sandbr and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of tiie same he had the satisfaction or seeing liis son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has uo\V" quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six mouths. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Lou" Gully, applied the extract, and the am cident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. xMrs Weppner, in Colbinabhin (Ruunymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice ipstbred health to her daughter, eleven jcais of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. Rifleman s Arms, Back Creek* brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took' place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Pickel suffered iii ■the bend of the knee from a swellinot which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attendim* to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, lorn, states:-List week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the nioht crying with earache. The extract applied, arid the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes; DUNCAN M‘LEAN* Wholesale Agent for* New Zealand,
