PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS 1 GLOBULUS EXTRACT. the distinguished patronage o! his Majesty-the King, of .Italy; it, Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at upon iiistructious from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try. to sell the eiicylvptus oil found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the ,cdmmiiting of imposition against trie public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products., are in many cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts:— The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upou the skin. - • Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds', bronchitis, -diptheria, croup,, sprains &c, the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being' unquestionably proved by former publicatio is in this paper. An application of oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. . The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; our extract consists of thie evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price beiug twenty-four shillings .for :one.pound weight. Our extract, the genuine. article, is only made up in one half dunce and one ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature SANDER and SONS, Sole turers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878! "DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Song, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn,.J.P., on the 17th October, 1877, at -Sandhurst :—"Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, ot ironbark, for nine weeks, and jured by an axe was absolutely necessary. L At this June don ,Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sandier and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he had the satisfaction ot seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendi<*o Evening News : Mr Git-schin, I'esidiug near Syden T ham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after tliree applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief; Cured after caking extract internally for six mouths-. A mail having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs" Weppner, in Colbiuabbiu (Runny mede) informed the manufaci turers that the extract applied twice' restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed' auo? trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs' Reeves, from thS Rifleman's Arm's, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the frtn*fily of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. , .... The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in ! the bend uf the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling h'e'f from attending to any work: She removed the swelling completely by a continued' application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December," 1577, states : —.Lust week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the ui°ht crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was curei and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for Haw Zealand
