We are informed that dealers medicine often try to sell thb encyh tus oil found in the trade instead of o Euclyptus Extract. So far as the co mitting of imposition against the pub in such a case is concerned, the con quences would not be serious ; but. the qualities of both of the produc are in many cases directly opposed to o another, we consider it our duty direct the public attention to the fol lowing facts The eucalyptus oil is recorded to of value as a medicament in cases „ rheumatism of secondary nature, an manifests a drawing, blistering effec upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the ap plication of a medicament must increas inflamatiori, and it is therefore eviden that in cases of wounds, colds, bron chitis, diptheria, croup, sprains <tc. the curative power of our extract 01 the named diseases being unquestion ably proved by former publications ii this paper. An application of the oi instead of our extract must impair thi diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight; Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst;—“Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raahe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he bad the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs W eppner, ifi Colbinabbin (RhnUymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health .to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman’s Arfhs, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swell'ng which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the /welling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 18i <, states Last week "the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache.
