I am a supporter of Sir George Grey and the Liberal Policy ; or auv Government that will carry out that programme and do justice to the interests of Westland. I will pledge myself to urge on the speedy completion oi the East and West Coast Railway, and the deviation of the Hokitika and Greymouth Line to Knmara, Goldsborongh, and Stafford. While supporting the present State System of Education, 1 consider that separate schools are entitled to assistance on some equitable basis in the large centres of population. I shall support the Local Option Bill, and in altering the Licensing System as at present administered. I shall advocate more Liberal Aid for Prospecting, ami a gradual Reduction of the Gold Duty. I snail urge the more equitable expenditure of borrowed money in future, and greater economy ; Deferred Payment in band to bona fide settlers ; and the Stoppage of Free Immigration for the present. j. purpose addressing you at the different centres after the Nomination of winch due notice will be given.
