[to the editor.] Sir, —I notice an advertisement calling for tenders for the supply of firewood to the Kumava Hospital. Can yon inform me if it is bona fide, or is it like to be settled like the tender for drugs, where an informal tender, is accepted in the first place, and altered a fortnight afterwards, a member of the Hospital Committee in the meantime having informed the at present successful tenderer his opponent's prices.
