NO-TIC E. DURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS * GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patron nge of his. Majesty the King of. Italy j |fi Rome, according, to ccaiijaiunicatioU received from the Consul-General foK Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruct tions fro til the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, iB7B> We are informed that, .dealers jti medicine often try to sell the tus oil found in the trade instead of qui* Euclyptus Extract;. So far the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious; but as the qualities of both of the '{products, are in manyfeases directly opposed to one 1 another, we consider it our duty, to direct the public attention to the fol* lowing facts:The eucalyptus oil is recorded tb ; life of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering bronght on by the ap* plication of a medicament must increase inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases Of wounds, colds, chitis, diptheria, croup, sprains &c.j' the curative power of our extract oA the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications, in this paper. An.application of the- oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The trdth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a. resindus product equivalent to common turpen-i its market value being about three shillings one pound weight \ our ex* tract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leave's, soothing and healing in its its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials; vials bear* ing on the labels our trade mark and signatured SANDER arid SONS, Sole Manufa* tuirers of the Eucalyptus Extract Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst; recoov mends itself by the following declaration and testimonials:— Epitome of declaration .niade before Moritz Cohn, J.R, on the 17th 1877, at Sandhurst:—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe> of Ironb'ark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, curing some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the plication of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fork night out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendfao Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residitig near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief; Cured after caking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Lonw Gully, applied the extract, and the iccident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbia (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a core of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the. family of Mr Ryan, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swel£ ing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December,1877, states:- Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract wag applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten mifcutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale A:-ent fov
