[NEW ZEALAND PRESS ASSOCIATION.] LATEST FOREIGN NEWS. London, August 15. The delegates of the mines, who recently met at Manchester, resolved to establish a voluntary immigraut fund ; all workmen to be elegible. Parliament was prorogued today. The Queen's speech says that foreign relations are friendly and cordial. The treaty of Berlin is being faith, fully executed by all who took part in it, and thereby a calamitious war has been prevented. Eeforms have been introduced in the administration of affairs in Turkey, and the British Government will continue to urge upon the Sultan the execution of these reforms. The mis government of Egypt has compelled Great Britain, in conjunction with the other powers, to effect a change of Khedive. The treaty of peace lately concluded with the Amesr of Afghanistan guarantees safety and peace to India, and the British frontier has thersby been strengthened. Her Majesty trusts that the recent successes in South Africa will lead to a speedy conclusion of peace. There was no mention in the Speech of the Greek Question. The Chancellor of the Exchequer, in reply to a question, said that in consequence of the great excitement on the frontiers of Thessaly and Epirus, the Turkish and Greek Governments had strengthened their forces, but the British Government did not consider it necessary to mention Greece in the Speech. Vienna, August 15. An Official Gazette announces the retirement of Count A ndrassy to-day. Madrid, August 16. The marriage of King Alfonso with the Arch-Duchess Maria Christina is fixed to take place on 28th November. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, August 18. It is believed that the Commercial Bank robbers are two escaped prisoners. The Black trackers are in hot pursuit, but owing to the heavy rains the tracks are rendered very difficult to trace. Adelaide, August 15. Wheat, 5s 2d to 5s 3d per bushel.
[oPECIAX.] Melbourne, August 16. Amos M'Kenzie, financier, is bankrupt, liabilities one million. Riots have takeu place at Cumm. The police fired on the rioters. Sydney, August IS. Owing to the accion of the miners at Lambt.ou Colli«vy refusiug to abide by the vend system,.a hu-ge body of the other miners seized the Lambton works. A disturbance ensued, shots were fired and one man was injured slightly. On the police arriving, the crowd dispersed to a monster open air meetiutf. Thirty-five miners arrived from Adelaide for the Waratah Cdlieiy, where the urines are locked out.
