BROAD ARROW. It 1b evidently not intended that the Russian Navy shall be idle during the approaching summer. In the Baltic an instructional squadron, consisting of seven men-of-war, for [the exercise of the pupils of the Naval School; a torpedo squadron of five vessels; an instructional artillery squadron, comprising four men-of-war; a surveying squadron, consisting of four screw steamers; and a great squadron of evolution are to be commissioned. The vessels composing -this last-named fleet will be the Peter the Great, the power of which we were at one time told was a standing menace to the naval supremacy o! England, and which is undoubtedly the largest, most heavily armed, and most thickly armoured vessel in the Russian navy, being of 9665 tons displacement, and carrying four 384« centimetre guns in two turrets; the Sevastopol, the oldest ironclad frigate in the Russian tervioe, of 6275 tons, and armed with eighteen 21-centimetre guns; the Admiral Greig, a three-turret ship, carrying three 28-centimetre gnus; the Admiral Cicagoff, a two turret vessel, armed with two 28-centimetre guns; the Netronjmena, an armoured broadside ship, carrying sixteen 21-centimetre guns; the Smerc, a small ironclad monitor; the Swietlans, a wooden frigate; the Griderj, a wooden corvette; the- Koldun, Strjetez, Tifon, Perun, and Aragan, all small monitors ; the Vladimir, a paddle wheel steamer and a floating workshop, All these vessels are to be commissioned for thr-e months. The torpedo squadron, which is to be commissioned for one month only, will comprise the Admiral Lasarefil a sister ship to the Admiral Greig; the Tjaradeika, a small ironclad monitor like the'Smero; the Jemtjug and the Opufc, both unsrmoured screw steamers, and the Ysruff, a torpedo boat
