He has received requisitions from Rodney and Marsden, and will elect to stand for one or the other. Government and the Opposition have agreed that only the Loan Bill and supply should be brought forward. Sir G. Grey stands otit for four months* supply, bat the Opposition adhere to three months. It is understood that Sir G. Grey is not sopported in this by his other colleagues. The elections are to take place during the first week iti September. Parliament re-assembles in the third week of September. August 5, The principal business before the House last evenirtg was the Loan Bill, which was read a second time and ordered to be committed to-day. The Premier Would not name ally particular date for the elections or the reassembling of the new Parliament, but promised to avoid all unnecessary delay. He trusted there would never be an end to the borx’owing policy of New Zealand. When the works now in hand were completed, they would be enough for seven or eight millions of people, who would have to pay the loans now incurred. Members of the House of Representatives are getting up a requisition* signed exclusively by themselves, to induce Mt Stontto reconsider his determination, and allow himself to be nominated in the forthcoming elections.
