NOTICE. DURE VOLATILE EUdALtPTU3 * GLOBULUS EXTRAdU Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the King, of Italyj \t Rome, according to commuriicatibh received from the Consul-General lot 1 Italy, at Melbourne, upon instrug* tions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers ill medicine often try to sell the eucylvp* tus oil found in thq trade instead of our Ericlyptus Extract. So far as the com* mitting of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products ate in manykiases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts i The eucalyptus otl is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect Upon the skiri; Any blistering brought ou by the application of a medicament must increase inflamatiori, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria* croup, sprains &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased; The truth df o'tir assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one ponnd weight; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract; Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNG AN M‘LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Morita Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst;—“Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, oi Ironhark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he had the satisfaction ot seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered.” Brief Extracts from tho Bendigo Evening News ; Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Lon" Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnyinede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Riflemans Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the. family of Air Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump 0 f consider* able size, disabling her from attendin'* to any work. She removed the swelfing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the nmht crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was curhd and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN MT.EAN, Wholesale Agent for Now Zealand.
