The losses of the Russian fire insurance companies, by the great fires i'a Orenburg last month, aggregate 2,287/000 roubles. Eighty houses were destroyed, and the inhabitants removed to the fields. The fire raged all Saturday. The Treasury, Rost Office, arfd Town Hall were saved. The r- cting Chief Secretary has determined to reward the officers Edelstoo and Taylor for the skill and energy which they displayed in the capture of Wieberg. Ejjelsion is to be made a first-class detective, and Constable Taylor is to be promoted to the rank of senior-constable. Besides their promotion'the officers will also receiveL2seach from the public treasury in recognition of their services.
