A constable near Coonamble shot a prisoner dead while attempting to escape. Melbourne, June 30. The. police are pursuing a party of five who passsd through Euroa on Friday night. The fugutives spent £lO, and showed police uniform under plain clothes. It was clearly ascertained they were not police, and are believed to be the Kellys. F. M. Bates, the well-known actor, was found dead in the Flemington road, with marks of violence, under suspicious circumstances.
