In the House of Commons last night, the Secretary of State for the Colonies, in reply to a question, said that a despatch had been sent to the Marquis of Norman by, which would arrive in Melbourne in a few days. He also promised .to produce, at an early date, all papers in connection with the Victorian Coustituioual question. [special.] London, June 18. A. revolution has taken place in the principal cities of Mexico. The country is in a state of anarchy. Don Candido Bareo, President of Paraguay, has been deposed, with the view that this will remodel the Constitution. The Embassy despatch received from the Secretary of State for the Colonies says that Beach has not seen any suggestion securing the finality of legislation or deemed free of objection. He hoped there is no desire to confer complete practical supremacy in the Assembly, and credits both Houses with reasonable desires. He expects both to assist in the solution of the difficulty of these points. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, June 18. The papers here publish the text of Sir Michael Hicks-Beach’s despatch to Lord Normauby, a subject which has been fully anticipated by direct telegraph.
The Legislative Assembly, last night, passed a vote of £300,000 for education, and rejected a resolution regarding the financial adminstration of the Ministry, which was tantamount to a Vote of confidence.
The health of Lady Normanhy is more satisfactory, though she is still weak.
June 19. ; The Parliament meets for despatch of business on the 8t July. The Government have notified to the Associated Banks that they intend to withdraw the public account at the end of six mouths; No reason has been assigned. The Australian and European Bank re-opens on Saturday. [special,] Sydney, June 18. The Victorian Parliament will probably meet'.on the loth July. Berry’s intention is to have * a short session and pass the Estimates, and should the Reform Bill be rejected by the Council to re-appeal Home. The tone is greatly moderated. Two of Kelly’s smpathisers, in Melbourne, purchased arms and ammunition, as the outlaws have run short. Warrants were issued subsequently, because of a desire to see where they went.
