A "HENOPHONE."
There is no necessity for siting from what part of this sphere the following " veracious" paragiaph comes. The nationality of its author is obvious. Here it is :—An intelligent farmer in Des Monies County has invented a henophone, on the principle of the telephone, by which one old reliable hen, occupying a central position, sits on all the uests about the establishment, ing other fowls free to lay eggs, scrateff aud cackle. As fast as a new nest contains the full complement of eggs, it is connected with the central office by a copper wire arid the business is settled. The only trouble with the machine is that it sis so. hard that it" hatches out the porcelain nest eggs along with the others, so that one chick in every nest is born with glass eyes, and the farmer has to buy and train a dog to lead it round. This makes it expensive.
