So far as the mitting of imposition against the publiti in such a base is concerned, the consequences would not be serious • but as the qualities of Both of the products are in manyjcases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts:—- ..' , The eucalyptus oil is recorded to bd of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering bronght on by the api plication of a medicament must increase inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis', diptheria, croup, sprains &c.j the curative power of oiir extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by fdrmer publications in this papei*. Ah application bf the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. Epitome of declaration made before' Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October 1877, at Sandhurst:—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr ; Raabe, of Iroribark, for nine' weeks, and declar-ed that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely neces- 1 sary. At thia junction Mr Kaabe' called on Messrs Sander and Sons, curing' some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, arid by the plication o£ the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a forte night out of all danger, and he has novir quite recovered."
Brief Extracts from the Bendigd Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Syden-J ham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, coiild scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. In November Mrs Reeves, from the 1 Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Picket suffered iri the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She reiiidved the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. .:.-..* _ The'Donald Times,- of Ist 1577, states:— Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the uighb crying with earache.
