NOTICE. pURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS—GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Utld ■■? the dtslingaished patroilige of his Majesty the King of luly, »t Rome, according to communication .•eceived from the Consul-Geneial for Italy, at Melbourne} upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs,'dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the encyly|»* tus oil found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far ay the com' mitting of imposition against the public* in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious; but an the qualities of both of the products are in many'cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts'—--The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheuinatiain of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect . upon the skin, j Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase ipfiamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bron* cbitia, diptheria, croup, sprains &c., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in thig paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our'assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent turpen* tine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; our ex* tract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing aud healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound' weight. Our extract, the genuine' article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials j vials 'bear* ing on the labels our trade mark and signature. '■ ' SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Sandhurst, November, 1878, DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globu* lus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sous, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following 'declaration and testimonials iEpitome of declaration made before Morite Cohn, J-P.> on the lTttt October. 1877, at -Sandhurst:—" Three' Wfiggfe Raabe, of Ironbark, for nfn£ weeks, an*' declared that amputation/of; the leg in* jured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe called on Messrs Sander and'Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the application of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News ! Mr Gieschin, residing near: Sydenham Gardens, had a very s?v«tr*Jcdld in November, could scarcely Kreathe, and could get no relief. Qured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man 1 having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, wliicli took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the -knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelU ing completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states:- Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. . DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New. Zealand,
