EDUCATION RESERVE RENTS.

Sm—l would like to ask a question which some of the fortunate portion of section-holders on the Kumara Education Reserve may possibly be able to answer, is it that they have not paid rent to the Board 1 Some I believe not for the last two years and others have paid np in full: lb seems strange that the Board will allow such to be. If they have the power of recovery, why do they not exercise it, in common justice to those who have paidj? I rather think they will find it a difficult job to recover rents for the ensuing year if they do not take action at once. If they have no legal right to collect rents, then, as a matter of course* they have received moneys under false pretences, and are liable to action for recovery of same, which will be instituted against them assuredly. Let the right be proved at once, or we, the paid-up portion of the community, will feel it our duty to ourselves to do so. Why do they (the Board) not try a case, and set the much vexed question at rest 1 Ido not blame the lucky ones but feel aggrieved at being made a fool of and a laughing-stock for them.- I consider the Board have mulcted me in the sum of £77 2s to which they had no legal right. By inserting the above, you will confer a favor and perhaps draw attention to the matter;—l hid. &c.,
