NEW ZEALAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION.
FIRING FOR THE BRONZE MEDAL.
The firing for the bronze medal of the New Zealand Rifle Association by the members of (he local Association took place at the Rifle Range, on Saturday last, one squad filing at 6 a.m., and the other in the afternoon. The conditions '.vm-X shots at 200, 400, and 500 yards; Wimbledon, targets a.nd scoring Several civilians took part in the con' test, as the Association is not restricted to Volunteer id embers only. The conditions under which this medal is given by the New Zealand Rifle Association are as follows :
Any Rifle Association subscribing not less than five guineas per annum to the New Zealand Rifle Association will be entitled to the Bronze Medal of the Association, to be" competed for under such conditions as. may be fixed by the local Association, the winner to be entitled to fire for such prizes, free of entrance fees, at the annual prize meeting of the New Zealand Rifle Association as the Council may determine.
To make the competition more interesting a handicap was declared on the event, with an acceptance of 2s 6d., and the scoies proved that the handicappers fstimate of the sh<>otiug capabilities of the competitors was a pretty correct one, as Lieut. Munyard only succeeded in securing the medal and Handicap by four points and one point respectively. The following are the scores :
