N OTT'C'E. "" >URE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronnge dt' his Majesty the King of Italy* it Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General foi* # Italy, at Melbourne, upon instruo 4 tions from the Minister, for .Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers irk ? medicine often try to sell the eucylyp l tus oil found in the trade instead of our" Euclypttis Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public" in such a case h concerned, the consequences would not be serious j but as the qualities of both of the products are in inany'cases directly opposed to one another, v?q consider it our duty td ! direct the public attention to 'the folf" lowing facts i— .. [[. The eucalyptus oil Is recorded to be" of value as a medicament in oases of i rheumatism of secondary nature, and," manifests a drawing, blistering 1 effedfcupon the skin. ' ' ! : Any blistering brought oft by the ap; plication of a medicament .'. inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains the curative power of dur extract on the named diseases being unquestioni ably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. ; 1 - The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous i product equivalent to common turpentine,'its market value being about three; shillings one pound weight; burexV; tract consists of the evaporating' particles of the gum leaves, soothing, atid healing in its effects, its price being' twenty-four shillings' for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is only made up in one half' ounce and one Ounce vials j vialS; bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature* ,/ SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufac- - turers of the Eucalyptus Extract. - : '< Sandhurst, November, 1878. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. , The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globu. • lus, manufactured solely by Messrs ; Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials:— Epitome of declaration made before" Moritz Cohn, J. P., on the 17th October, 1877, at Sandhurst j—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mfc;; Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine, weeks, and '■• declared that amputation of the leg in-: :1 jured by an axe was absolutely 'necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe ; called on Messrs Sander and Sons, pro- .: curing some of their Extract of the , Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the ap-.-.v plication of the same he had the satisr *_> faction of seeing his son within a fort- i, night out of all danger, and he has now : - quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening Nowb : Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised; *. severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. ;».- Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnyinede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice : restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Kckel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued applica- .'/ tion of the extract. . . The Donald Times, of Ist December* '. 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night ] crying with earache. The extract was \ applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand.
