We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the tus oil found in the trade instead of out* Euclyptus Extract. So far as the mitting of imposition against the public! in such a case is concerned) the Consequences would not be serious j but as the qualities of both of the products are in directly opposed to one another, we donsider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts i The eucalyptus Oil is redorded to be of value as a medicament in eases of rheumatism of secondary nature) and manifests a drawing) blistering effect upon the skill. Any blistering brought on by the plication of a medicament must increase inflaumtion, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, chitis, diptheria, droup) sprains &c.j the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being Unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the disea»ed. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous '. product equivalent to common tine) its market value being about three shilliugs one pound weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the guttl leaves, soothing aud healing in its effects, its price being: twenty-four shillings for one pound weight; Our extract) the genuine article, is only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials j vials inj» on the labels our trade mark and signature; SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract; Sandhurst, November, 187& DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials 2 Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th Odtoberj 1877, at Saudhurst:—" Three medical. gentlemen had attended the son of Mr : Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg in-, jured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Raabe j called on Messrs Sander and Sons, .pro-. curing some of their Extract of ;the. Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the ap-.. plication of the same he had the satisfaction oi seeing his son within a fort-.. night out of all danger, and he has now.. quite recovered*" Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News s Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extraot. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at. work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought, information of a cure of delirium caused: by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states:—Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand.
