Greymouth Jockey Club Handicap, of 100 sovs, with acceptances added ; 2 miles ; nominations, 2 sovs ; acceptances, 4 sovs. Nominations enclosing 2 sovs received up to Weduesday, 12th February, at 11 o'clock p.m. Handicap declared Monday, 17th February, at 8 p.m. ; and acceptances received up to 11 p.m. night of general entry. Weight for age : post entries. Consolation Stakes, of 15 sovs ; 1 mile ; entrance, 1 sov ; post entries RULES AND REGULATIONS. 1. Night of General Entry, Saturday, 15th March, 1879 2. All nominations and acceptances must be made in writing and sent in sealed covers, addressed to the Secretary, Albion Hotel, Greymouth, and contain entrance money, sweepstakes, description and age of horse, snd colors to be worn by the jockey 3. All stakes paid less 5 per cent. Three horses mnst start for each race, or the public money will be witheld ; the Races will be run under the Greymouth Jockey Club Rules ' 4. No entery will be received unless upon the distinct understanding that the decision of the Stewards or whoever they may appoint shall in all cases be final, and all law proceedings barred. 5. All entries for the Hack Race are to be made subject to the approval of the Stewards. 6. All horses- must be ridden in colors 7. In the event of any person entering a protest, the sum of £2'2s must be lodged with the secretary before such protest is considered ; this'sum to be forfited should the Stewarts.consider the protest frivilous or vexatious 8. All parties entering a horse*must pay ~e sum of £2 2s to .the Race Fund in i to qualify themselves, entries for J excepted 9.
