NOTICE. >URE VOLATILE GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage" of his Majesty the Ring of Italy, it Rome, according to communication received fronl the Congul-Gfeneral for" Italy, at Melbourne, upon jristrug* tions from the Minister for Foreign Affaire, dated 14th March, 1.878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try td sell the eucylvp* tus oil found in the trade instead of our htuclyptus Extract. So far ds the com* mitting of imposition against the publid in such a case is concerned, the eonse* quences would not be serious ; but ad the qualities of both of the products are in many'cases directly opposed to oiie another, we consider it our duty td direct the public attention td the fol* lowing facts : The' eucalyptus oil is recorded to be" of value as a medicament in bases of: rheumatism of secondary nature; and manifests a drawing, blistering effecfc upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the ap* plication of a myUicament must increase" itiflamation, aud it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bron*' cliitis, diptheria, croUp, sprains «fcc.j the curative pbwgr of dilr extract on the" named diseases being unqiiestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead df our extract mdst impair th.B diseased. The truth.of our assertion is fdurided upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turben* tine; its market value being about three shillings one' pound weight; our ex* tract consists of the evaporating, particles of the gum leaves, Soothing aud healing in its effects, its pvice being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract $ the genuine article, is only made up in one half dunce and one ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufac* turers of the Eucalyptus Extract; Sandhurst, November, 1878; DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract df the Eucalyptus Globtilus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recom* mends itself by the following tion and testimonials ; Epitome of declaration made befbrd Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th 1877, at Sandhurst:—" Three medical gentlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, oi Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg in* jured by an axe was absolutely neces* sary. At this junction Mr Raabe called dn Messrs Sander and Sdiis, pro* curing some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, and by the ap* plication of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fort* night out of all danger, and he has now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Eveniug News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentleman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill proved ineffectual in giving relief. Cured after taking extract internally for six months. A man having his arm bruised sevei'ely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbin (Runnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daxighter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mrs Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considei--able size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, sbates:— Last week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the uight crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN M'LEAN, Wholesale Agent for New Zealand.
