The Queensland blacks are again proving troublesome. They have murdered four whites at Well’s Creek, where they had been betrayed by black guides. Melbourne, March 3. During the search for a man in the Wallsend Colliery, on Saturday; an explosion of fire damp occurred, and the manager and two men were seriously burned. Brisbane, March 3, An important seizure of an illicit still, and also of the property and hotel where the liquor was sold, has been effected heie. Several arrests were made in connection with the seizure.
The Charleston has arrived at Port Darwin, from Hong Kong, with 618 Chinese, and the Brisbane is expected shortly with nearly 500 more.
