PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished pafcron'ige of his Majesty the King of Italy, it Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucylyptus ail found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be serious; but as the qualities of both of the products are in many'cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the following facts: — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering bronght on by the application of a medicament must increase inflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains ike, the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound weight; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing and healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is ouly made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878.

DUNCAN M'LEAN, Whplesale Agent for New Zealand. The Extract of the Eucalyptus Globulus, manufactured solely by Messrs Sander and Sons, Sandhurst, recommends itself by the following declaration and testimonials : Epitome of declaration made before Moritz Cohn, J.P., on the 17th October, J 877, at Sandhurst: — lf Three medical geutlemen had attended the son of Mr Raabe, of Ironbark, for nine weeks, and declared that amputation of the leg injured by an axe was absolutely necessary. At this junction Mr Eaabe called on Messrs Sander and Sons, procuring some of their Extract of the Eucalyptus Glpbulus, and by the application of the same he had the satisfaction of seeing his son within a fortnight out of all danger, and he has) now quite recovered." Brief Extracts from the Bendigo Evening News : Mr Gieschin, residing near Sydenham Gardens, had a very severe cold in November, could scarcely breathe, and could get no relief. Cured after three applications of the extract. The same gentlpman suffered eight years from rupture, and all medical skill prpved ineffectual in giving relief, pured after taking extract internally for six mpuths. A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in. Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not even necessitate as much as an interruption in his attendance at work. Mrs "Weppner, jn Colbinabbin (Eunnymede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who hud been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November Mis Beeves, from the Rifleman's Anns, Baik Creek, brought information of a cure, pf delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fickel suffered in the bend of the knee from a swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her from attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract. The Donald Times, pf Ist December, 1877, states :—L;ast week the eldest boy of Mr Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. DUNCAN MCLEAN, Agent (or New gealaricj.
