[PKBSS AQBtfCY.] THE STEAMER TAUPO ASHORE. Tauranga, February 18. The Uniou Company's steamer Taupo is supposed to be ashore at Stoney Point, Mount Mangatapu, at the entrance to the harbor. A steamer was despatched at seven this morning, but has not yet returned. Later. The Taupo is ashore, as reported; but they hope to get her off next tide, and run her ashore on the sand. The Chronicle is informed that the Government have received further correspondence from the enclosing correspondence from -.Messrs Gall>raith and Dennv, the well-known shipowners, re the proposed direct stemi service.
