NOTICE.
PURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. TJlidev the distinguished patron'tge of his Majesty the King of Italy, it Rotno, according to communication I'epeived from the Consul-General for Jtajy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try to sell the eucylyptus. oil fouud in the trade instead of our Enclyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public in such a case is concerned, the consequenoes would not be serious ; hut as the qualities of both of the products are in many]cases directly opposed to one another, we consider it our duty to direct the public attention to the foK lowing facts: — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of yheuniatisin of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect Upon the skim Any blistering brought on by the application of a medicament must increase incarnation, and it is therefore evident • that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains <fca, the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this paper, An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a resinous product equivalent to common turpentine, its market value being about three shillings one pound -weight ; our extract consists of the evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing #nd healing in its effects, its price being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is ouly made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ; vials bear'ing on the labels our trade marl? and Signature.
