As the breeze fiesli-ned the Transit increase 1 her distance, as it died the Torea lessened it to 4min. Practically the Transit beat the Torea by 5 miles, as being that distance to windward she caught the end of the flood tide and came up the harbor. The Torea was too late round the North Head, anl got j imbed with the ?bb in the Rangitoto Channel, and remained in the doldrums till far on in the for nooiv.
