NOTICE. fURE VOLATILE EUCALYPTUS GLOBULUS EXTRACT. Under the distinguished patronage of his Majesty the King of Italy, \t Rome, according to communication received from the Consul-General for Italy, at Melbourne, upon instructions from the Minister for Foreign Affairs, dated 14th March, 1878. We are informed that dealers in medicine often try tq sell the eucvlvptus oil found in the trade instead of our Euclyptus Extract. So far as the committing of imposition against the public \a such a case is concerned, the consequences would not be .serious ; but as the qualities of both of the products are in directly opposed to one another, we consider it our' duty to direct the public attention to the following facts: — The eucalyptus oil is recorded to be of value as a medicament in cases of rheumatism of secondary nature, and manifests a drawing, blistering effect upon the skin. Any blistering brought on by the npinflamation, and it is therefore evident that in cases of wounds, colds, bronchitis, diptheria, croup, sprains etc., the curative power of our extract on the named diseases being unquestionably proved by former publications in this, paper. An application of the oil instead of our extract must impair the diseased. The truth of our assertion is founded upon the fact that the oil is a. resinous tine, its market value being about thro, shillings one pound weight ; our extract consists of ihe evaporating particles of the gum leaves, soothing aud healing in its effects, its pi ice being twenty-four shillings for one pound weight. Our extract, the genuine article, is. only made up in one half ounce and one ounce vials ; vials bearing on the labels our trade mark and signature. SANDER and SONS, Sole Manufacturers of the Eucalyptus Extract. Sandhurst, November, 1878. 'DUNCAN M'LEAN, "Wholesale Agent for New Zealand.
