[PKESS AGENCY.] THE SCHOONER PELICAN ASHORE. Foxton, February 1. The vessel gone ashore on the north spit is. the Pelican, from Greymour.h, with coal for the Government, owned by Captain Williams. She is aground dose to the spot where the Moyuahan was wrecked, and of which no longer a vestige remains. Causes for Pelican going ashore are said to be that the ligh breeze blowing, and falling off at a crit cal moment, gave the surf power over the vessel and set her in, and the bar h tving silted up more than usual in, consequence of the late gale, she struck sooner than would have i een the ca-e under ordinary circumstances. The Capt iin a d crew still remain on b >a d. The Jane Douglas arrived this morning with a very full cargo, and will leave for Wei.in »ton again at three this afternoon. Captain Fraz r reports the bar much shallower than usual;', as the Jane s ruck ground coming in, ami held for about three minutes.
