LICENSE HUNTING.
[to the editor.] Sir.—After the manner in which the Borough Council has expended the funds of the ratepayers who are located on the Government side of the town, in taking steps to relieve those on the Education Reserve from paying their rents, any sane person would imagine that this same body (on the eve-of the sale>of; land) would not resort to such practices as to cause the Town Clerk to appear in the light of an informer in a matter in which the Council is not directly concerned. : Now sir, those very Councillors who have, helped to expend our money in adopting means to get out of paying their own rents—and who have not yet paid their rents—has ingeniously turned round to pay us back with interest by informing on us. Shame on such conduct! One would imagine, sir, that what was " sauce for the goose" on the other side, ought to be " sauce for the gander" on this side of the street.—l am, &?., A Government Section-hoider. .
