WITHDRAWAL OF THE GOVERNMENT PROCLAMATION. A telegram has been handed ua for publication by the District Engineer (C. Y. O’Connor,' Esq.), by which it will be seen that the vexed and objectionable action taken by the Government relative to the KumaraKawhaka Water-Race lias at last been finally dealt with by the Minister of Public Works and iu a manner, that, though satisfactory, was quite expected under the circumstances. The followmg is a. copy of the telegram referred to t To District Engineer, Hokitika. Minister has approved recommendation to withdraw the Kumara Race proclamation. Will you let this be known.
