The chfesSs*match between jsixphyyersoif Eumara and six of The Lead- (of gold)* came off bn Saturday evening, and resulted in a draw, each side winning three out of the six games contested; Messrs Palmer*’ and Janion, captains of the respective; teams,- tossed for choice, of first move* which, being; won by the Tatter, he elected, to give first move to his 2iid, 4th, and 6th’ men,* thus giving The Lead players first; at the odd numbers of boards; Mr* Holst, one of the players of The Lead being unwell, his-place was taken by Mr-' Donald M‘Kinnon—one of the fives* players who contested to represent The* Lead. With the exception of the games* at the first and fifth boards, we> understand, each of the other games fluctuated--somewhat, both parties having at various* stages'winning positions. The following, shows the name of- each player-, that of the winner* appearing in the thirdcolumn : k;umara. t&e lead.- Won by Janion v..
