Mr Seddon then proposed, and Mr M'Wiurter seconded, that Mr Joseph Giimmond be Chairraait of the County, for the enduing year, which tfas pat and carried.

Mr Giimmond, on taking the chair, thanked the Council for tho honor done him. lie would strive to fulfil the duties of the office to the best of-his ability, and hoped he would give satis* faction. ‘
