No certain knowledge of their movements is known to the authorities, hut it is supposed that they are occupying a
secret stronghold at the head of.tlte west branch of King River. The search patties have had to encounter fearful weather. The Kellys are known t 6 have stuck up a stores on the King i River.' The owner tried to barricade *, the door, but and the bush.rai*igerS fsaid if ever he did so again he would bd shot. On the following day, a teldgram wat' leoeived stating that.‘“lt is now apparent that the police have lost all tracO of the Kellys, and are completely baffled'. They closed in on Rats’ Castle, but found no one evtn a trail*. It is quite apparent a long time tdUst elapse before an arrOst is made. Not a word has been hea£d about the delinquents for days. The Chief Cdtaraisi sioner of Police and his superintendents . have gone to the scene of actioil" with add tiOrtal police, and it is intended to' completely and thoroughly scobr the whole Oountry and leave no stone unturned, in orddr to bring the raficais tO’ justice.
