AN ENGLISH ARMY CORPS.

In round numbers au English Army Corps contains, when all its several parts are placed on their full warestablishment, very nearly 37,000 of all ranks. Of these, in round numbers again, 5,000 officers and men belong to the medical, commissariat, and administrative departments, leaving 32,000 of all ranks belonging to the Infantry, Cavalry, Artillery, and Engineers. There are three divisious of Infantry, a brigade of Cavalry, a force of Artillery, distinguished as the " Corps Artillery," aud a complement of Engineers. Each division of Infantty also comprises a force of Artillery and Cavalry, as well as foot-soldiers. To give its composition more in detail, it consists of two brigades of Infantry, each brigade comprisinr three battalions, a battalion of Rifles, a regiment.-of Cavalry, three batteries of Field-Artillery," a company ot Engineers, a troop of military polic.\ and an ammunition reserve column.

The Cavalry brigade consists of three regiments of Cavalry and a battery of Howe Artillery. The Corps Artillery comprises time batteries of HorseArtillery and two batteries of Field* Artillery, besides an ammunition reserve colunih. A ltogether therefore an Army Corps includes twenty-one batta--lions of Infantry, or, in round 21,000 bayonet-*; six regiments of Cavalry, or 30,000 sabres; and fifteen batteries of Artillery, or 90 guns.
