A man having his arm bruised severely at a crushing machine, in Long Gully, applied the extract, and the accident did not. even necessitate as much as an interruption in his'attendance at work.
Mrs Weppner, in Colbinabbiu (Runnyinede) informed the manufacturers that the extract applied twice restored health to her daughter, eleven years of age, who had been rushed and trampled upon by a cow. In November M ts Reeves, from the Rifleman's Arms, Back Creek, brought information of a cure of delirium caused by sunstroke, which took place in the family of Mr Ryan, butcher, of Back Creek. The wife of Mr Fiokel suffered in the bend of the knee from h swelling which had formed a lump of considerable size, disabling her Irom attending to any work. She removed the swelling completely by a continued application of the extract.
The Donald Times, of Ist December, 1877, states :- List week the eldest boy of Mi-Morgan awoke in the night crying with earache. The extract was applied, and the little fellow was cured and asleep in ten minutes. Mr French, of Ooorack station, sufferred from bad earache and pains in the head. Two drops of the extract were put in the ear and some rubbed round the ear, and the pain instantly disappeared. The Evening Times' hus reported cures of neuralgia, by the use of iLo extract, at Geelong.
The extract, which is of a brilliant yellow gold color, and need not be confounded with the turpentine-like preparation of the gum that is to be; Wnmd in the trade, has been applied, with marked ben.rticial effect, to severe S])fitiiis, all sor.B of wounds, cuts, and its chief property—namely, to ch. ukall inflammation—accounts for the cures referred to. An equally important quality of the extract is its efficacy as a disinfectant.
