From a proofeopy of the Rules of the New Zealand Rifie Association which’ \Ve have received, we learn' that the following is a. synopsis of its conExcellency the Governor .toria patron,.; and Colonel Whitmore President. The North and .Squth Islands .to. be represented,..by -five VicePresidents, viz., Sir George Grey, Sir Wm. Fitzherhert, ’ Major tlie.,Hon. Colonel Brett, and Sir John Rich ardson. A Council consisting of fourteen members, and. an executive committee of twenty, from the different Volunteer Districts in the two islands. The first prize meeting to be held at Nelson in Fehruaiy next. ’ All competitions to he.held at iNelson. The champion belts hitherto shot for by Volunteers to bestillcoufiued to.efficieqtVolunteers. Civilians cirri become members of the Association on a fee ot one gu.nea. Any local Association can join as a body'bn payment of an animal fee of five guineas, which' will entitle it to ’enter seven members at any contest not exclusively for Volmi-t-ers.
