VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE.

,A special meeting of the-members of the Kumara Volunteer Fire Brigade was held last evening, in the Clarendon HotelLieut.-'Powell in the chair. It was resolved that the question of an entertainment, to augment the funds of the Brigade, stand over until the next monthly meeting. On the motion of Lieut. Powell se-. cohded by Mr Fitzsimmons, it was unanimously resolved that the sura of £l2 be presented to Mr C. King from the members, as a mark of their appTe ciation of his services as a late Captain of the Brigade. v It was also unanimously resolved, on the motion of Mr Orams, seconded by Mr Jones, “ That late Captain King be elected a Life Honorary member of the Brigade, and that tile Secretary be instructed to notify Mr King of this re* solution by letter.” The question of a reduction of the the night watchman’s salary was left over until the next monthly meeting The meeting then terminated. °
