HOKITIKA. - ARRIVED. 'October 18.,—Murray, for Greymouth; Waipara, for Greymouth; Dunedin, for 3)imedm. SAILED. ■ October 18.—Nil. GREYMOUTH. ARRIVED. October 18.—Murray, from Nelson, via Hokitika; Waipara, from Hokitika. SAILED. October 18.—Nil. The last gale has had the effect (the Grey River Argus says) of spoiling the straight channel out to sea which the river had, and changing its course to the northward, which renders it impossible to do 'toy towing should there be the slightest 86a on. The steamers Murray and Waipara came in by the new channel yesterday, and found it navigable, but the risk Was considered too great to tow out the steamers Wallabi or St. Kilda. It is expected that as soon as the sea goes down the current of the river will have its Haturul effect in producing a straight channel.
