The British Government leaves it to a member of the Indian Council and the Secretary of Stale for India, to initiate and carry out a line of policy towards the Ameer of Afghanistan. The prevalent opinion is in favor of English occupation of Kyber Pass and Kandahar. St. Petersburg, September 25. It is officially denied here that Russia is acting in complicity with the Ameer of Afghanistan. LATEST AUSTRALIAN NEWS. Melbourne, September 27.
