Owing to the indisposition of Major Atkinson from a Bevere c>ld he was not in his place last night when the Treeurer explained the Government proposals, and on that account did not take part in the debate, by following the Treasurer, as had been expected.
Nelson, August 31. Great anxiety and alarm haß been created by Mr Macandrew's proposal to entirely exclude the Nelson Province from all participation in the benefits of the Public Works Bcheme for the next fivs years. Apu Mic meeting on the subject is called by the Mayor for Tuesday.
