JOHN DICKSON.
[to the editor.] Rir—l beg to correct an error which appeared in your issue of a recent date with regaisl to John Dickson having had ins eyesight restored at the Melbourne Eye Infirmary. The facts of
the case are as follows ' } —When he ar» lived in Melbourne, he found the Eye Infirmary full of patients (they can only accommodate 22), and 200 applicants wait ing their turn to be admitted, which compelled him to give up all hopes of being admitted into the Institution. He desired me to make this public for the information of others similaraly afflic-'ecl. He his now under the treatment of Dr. Bowen, who has performed three operations on him successfully. He has to undergo another operation yet before he will make a start to improve in his sight but Dr. Bowen holds out great hopes of restoring his eyesight, at least in one eye. Richard Mhohnnet, Kumara, 2sth July, 1878. [We have great pleasure ill ing our correspondents letter as it corroborates to a certain extent the paragraph to which be refers, the place oi? operation being of little moment, provided Mr Dickson benefits thereby.— Ed. m T.]
