SOLICITOR : C. K Button, Esq. SECRETARY : J. E- Cuddefoi d, pro teni.

The object »f the proposed Company is to work the lea.se of the Enterprise Quartz Mining Company, Taipo. The claim is situated on Parry's Range, Arahura I)i>trict, about Heven miles'froin the Chri.stchurch road, and thirty-sfcven rhileS Froth Hokitika'. The claim contains 1 an area of 2(1 acres, granted as a lease to the present company by tb> Governor's Delegate. The prospectors have already expended a sum of £ISOO in driving a tunnel, sinking a shaft, and geuerally testing the ground. Two distinct and well-defined reefs have already been tested in the claimone in the shaft aud the other in the tn n liel. They are about 200 feet apart j the average width is 3ft 6in an 2ft 6ini, The stone ia equal in richnessL The tunnel has been driven 150 and the shaft ia now down 30 feet. It is proposed to extend the tunnel so to strike the reef which is being WorkSd iii the shaft. A trial crushing of about eight hundred weight of stone and rubble, taken from both reefs, took place at the Bank of sew Zealand, Rokitika, some, time since and yielded at the rate of: sozs 6dwt to the ton. The payable quantity of the stonehaving been thus satisfactorily proved, it is proposed that the new Company shall work the ground in a more' systematic' manner and on a more extensive scale than hitherto, and it is confidently anticipated that with the 1 aid of machindry, the mine 'will prove remunerative to an extent greater than is the case with regard to many of the best reefing companies on the Wetib Coast. The claim is commanded by an extensive and never failing supply of : water at a high level, which can be brought on to the ground at <t compara- | tively small cost; for working the- bat When increased labor has opened up the reefs there will be a supply of quartz ttutficieut to keep a heavy battery coni tinually empl'iyed. The road connecting the reefs with the main Chrintchurch road has been finished by the GroveYnirient, and every facility is now ottered for the conveyance of machinery to this undoubtedly payable held. The promoters and shareholders in the preseut company have Such confidence in the remunerative' nature of the ground, that they are witling to accept two thousand foiir hundred paid up shares in the new Company, in full payment for the purchase of their entire right and title in the lease; for all labor already done, and expenses incurred. The promoters are assured that the undertaking will prove a complete success, dnd confidently express an, i opinion that the future operations of i the new Company wijl materially tend to the development of a very extensive track of reefing couutrv, which, when opened up, must of necessity largely, increase the commercial prosperity of Hokitika,; as being the nearest town" and port to the goldfield. They, there-' fore, invite the attention of the public to the present undertaking as a safe and payhig investment. The promises' of support already received justify the Conclusion that the Company will be* j floated at a very early ddte, arid applii cations for shares are invited.

. Forms of application to be obtained from a'ny of the Pi'dtisiotial Diredfcors/ or the Secretary, JAMES E. CUDDEPORDj Corner of Whatf streety Hokitifcgi
